Spring brings lots of flowers. Let's see what flower finds you can make this spring. Remember, don’t pick any flowers without permission! You can learn a lot about flowers without picking them.
Make a list of colors of flowers like the one below. Put an X next to each color you find in a flower this April. Do it again in May. How many colors can you find?
Count flower petals. Can you find any flowers that have only 3 petals? Can you find any with 5 petals? Make a number list and check the ones for how many petals the flowers you see have.
Some flowers smell really good. Some don’t have much smell. A few smell bad. Smell some. Check the smells you find.
Flowers can be found on different kinds of plants. Make a list of different plants and put an X next to the ones that you find flowers on.
Remember, flowers help plants to make seeds. Seeds can grow into new plants. Cool! Older students might want to learn more about flowers making seeds by visiting our page, "Why Do Plants Have Flowers?"
