Students can use the Vernier probeware offered by ESP to model the skills used by scientists in the field. The skills of data collection and analysis, problem solving, and analytical thinking are important for the student in the 21st century classroom.
There are five different probes ESP has available to schools:
- Dissolved oxygen
Students may have TI-84 Plus or TI-Nspire calculators to use with the probeware. If not, ESP has TI-Nspire CAS calculators for your classroom to use during your classroom investigations with the probes.
The EasyLink connects the probes to the TI-84 Plus or TI-Nspire handheld (except temperature, temperature probes can be plugged directly into the calculator), and the Vernier data collection software launches automatically.
Training is required to sign-out these probes, and is offered in the fall and spring. Vernier probes are available FREE of charge to schools in our program in Monroe County only. ESP courier delivers and picks-up the equipment. Equipment is signed out to classrooms for two weeks.
See brochure for additional information on the Vernier Probes.
