The Elementary Science Program was established by the Monroe 2-Orleans BOCES in 1972 to provide science materials and inservice training for elementary science teachers. Its goal is to assist teachers in meeting the educational goals established by the New York State Department of Education. These are currently outlined in the
Learning Standards for Mathematics, Science and Technology (

Elementary Science Core Curriculum Grades K-4 and the
Intermediate Level Science Core Curriculum Grades 5-8.
The ESP is located in Spencerport, New York, an Erie Canal village in Monroe County, town of Ogden just west of Rochester, NY.
